I am excited to be one of a small group of International FeldekraisR Practitioners who graduated in 2013 from a one year Advanced Training in The Jeremy Krauss Approach to working with Special Needs Children. The Jeremy Krauss Approach is a unique way of helping Special Needs Children learn, grow and develop their abilities- physically, mentally and emotionally. It supports a child to learn, change and overcome developmental challenges of various kinds in a gentle supportive way through a process of progressive developmental abilities formation.
The Jeremy Krauss Approach was developed by Jeremy Krauss a personal student of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, creator of the The Feldenkrais Method of Awareness through Movement and Functional Integration.
I work with children with developmental delay and special needs guiding them with gentle movements in order to improve their self-awareness, wellbeing, improve their coordination and developmental skills. I find it very important for the parents and caregivers to be able to establish their goals and we work closely together with each child to implement a cohesive home program. As a Physical Therapist and Feldenkrais Practitioner I have worked with babies with Torticollis and/or birth trauma in order to improve their function during the crucial phases of early development. I have also worked with children with special needs suffering from a variety of different diagnosis including cerebral palsy, orthopedic problems, brain injury, low tone, developmental delay, stroke, and musculoskeletal injuries, as well as infants and children recovering from traumatic injuries.
Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais: "Movement is life. Life is a process. Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself."
